Kelly'z Kidz Daycare Handbook

Below is an attachment of our handbook. It will need to be signed by the parent at the time of enrollment. (The handbook is currently being designed for 2008)

Also attached is a child emergency card. This too needs to be filled out completely and turned in with immunization records on your childs first day of care.

We would also like you to fill out the GETTING TO KNOW YOU form that is attached. This helps us to get to know your child and make their transition into daycare easier.

Prices

Children $30 per day.
Part-time care or drop ins are billed at $10.00 per hour.

There is a $80 non-refundable administration fee due at time of enrollment.
Prices include 2 nutritional snacks and a nutritional lunch. Diapers are not included. If your child is on special formula or breast milk that will also need to be provided by the parent. You may bring formula in bulk with your child's name on the outside of the package or bring in bottles on a daily basis with your child's name on the outside of the bottle.

Tuition is due weekly on the first day of care. If your child misses a day that day will be credited to your next weeks tuition. You do not need to pay for a day if your child does not attend, but we would like a call letting us know that your child is not attending on his/her scheduled day. Please refer to our handbook for more information on our policies and procedures.

KELLY'Z KIDZ is a state licensed home daycare located in East Mesa, Arizona.We are located at 1643 S. 82nd Street, Mesa, AZ 85209. 82nd Street is on the North side of Baseline Rd. between Sossaman and the new 202 freeway.

Our daycare is currently closed due to the birth of my new son, Travis Jackson Mitteer. He will be born on November 14th.
At this time we are not enrolling kids. The earliest we may start accepting children is February 2008.

We at Kellyz Kidz want your child to feel right at home. It is our goal to provide you child with an at home environment. We know that it is hard to feel comfortable leaving your child to go to work, we've been in your shoes. We want to provide an atmosphere that not only your child will enjoy but that you too will be at ease. For the kids we offer fun, educational, and age appropriate activities. We use music, dance, and art to help your child grow into a confident person. For the parents we pride ourselves on having open communication with you on the progress of your gowing child and his/her daily activities.

We have a room for infant care (birth to 12 months)
We also have a room with various centers for children ages 1 year to 4 years to play and learn. We have an outdoor play area with a sandbox, infant swings, a climber and slides. There is a large grassy area for kids to run. We offer healthy snacks and lunches. We all sit at the dining room table and in various highchairs around the table for our lunch and snack time. We hope that this will promote a community or family atmosphere and a feeling of belonging to all our kids.
For the older kids we try to keep the same routine each day. This helps them feel comfortable and know what to expect each day. An example of a routine schedule can be seen by clicking the schedule link on the left side.

State Certification

Being state licensed means we offer ...
1. All of our providers have been fingerprinted and had their backround checked by the state.
2. We sign in and out children. Only adults on the child's list will be allowed to sign children out.
3. Our facility has been inspected and approved by the state for safety requirements.
4. We offer an individual crib or mat for all children attending - this cuts down on the spread of germs.
5. We are required to wear gloves when changing diapers and we wash the child's hands and our own before and after. We are also required to follow state practices and procedures for diaper changing areas.
6. We are suprise inspected by the state throughout the year.
7. We will never have more than 8 kids in our daycare at one time and we will always have at least two providers per 8 kids.
8. All of our instructors are CPR and First Aid trained.
9. All of our instructors have had classes in early childhood development.
10. The director (Kelly) has had Child Care Professional Training given by the Department of Economic Security.
This training covers child development, nutrition, safety, child abuse, math for youths, and literacy for youths.
11. The director (Kelly) is apart of the state program S*CCEEDS which tracks child care training and keeps record of experience.
12. We accept Department of Economic Security funds for child care.

Our schedule is not strict. We try to stay within the time limits but it is always tentative based on the children.
This schedule is geared toward the two to four year olds. The infants are on their own schedule based on their individual needs.

7:00 am - 8:00 am Greetings and free choice play
8:00 am - 8:30 am Breakfast or morning snack
8:30 am - 10: 00 am Group activity ( music, art, science, math related)
10:00 am - 11:00 am Free Choice play
11:00 am - 11:30 am Outdoor play
11:30 am - 12:00 pm Lunch
12:00 pm - 12:20 pm Story Time
12:20 pm - 1:45 pm Nap/Rest time
1:45 pm - 2:45 pm Free Choice play
2:45 pm - 3:00 pm Snack
3:00 pm - 3:30 pm Singing Songs
3:30 pm - 4:30 pm Outdoor Play
4:30 pm - 5:30 pm Baby Einstein TV or Disney movie time and clean up.

Our Free Choice play time includes centers with Cars, blocks, reading books, pretend play and dress up, musical instruments, and coloring.
